Introduction

The novel coronavirus continues to spread throughout the world, with more than 10 million confirmed cases and over 500,000 deaths reported as of June 2020. While some countries have managed to keep the virus largely under control, others have seen a resurgence in infections.

As the situation evolves, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to know which countries are safe to visit. The U.S. State Department has issued travel advisories for more than 190 countries, and many international borders remain closed.

To help you make an informed decision about where you can travel safely, we’ve compiled a list of countries that have had success in controlling the spread of COVID-19. These destinations have implemented strict public health measures and have been largely successful in preventing new infections.

COVID-19 and travel

The coronavirus pandemic has forced many people to change their travel plans. Some countries are starting to open up, but many are still restricting travel.

If you’re planning a trip, it’s important to research the situation in your destination country. The CDC offers guidance on its website, and the State Department has a color-coded system for classifying risk levels.

The green list includes countries that have been deemed safe for travel. These countries have a low risk of coronavirus transmission and have put adequate safety measures in place.

If you’re planning to travel to a country not on the Green list, it’s important to take precautions to protect yourself from the virus. Wear a mask, wash your hands often, and maintain social distancing. You should also consider getting tested for COVID-19 before and after your trip.
