Why these destinations made the cut
The United Kingdom has released its “green list,” outlining the 12 countries British citizens can visit without having to quarantine upon their return.
So, what criteria did these destinations have to meet in order to make the cut?
First, the number of new cases of COVID-19 per 100,000 people had to be lower than 30 in the past 28 days. Second, there had to be no more than 50 new cases per 100,000 people in the past seven days. Finally, the country had to have a functioning healthcare system and be able to rapidly identify and isolate new cases of the virus.
With these criteria in mind, here are the 12 destinations that made the cut:

-Faroe Islands
-Israel and Jerusalem

What makes these destinations so green
The UK has released its “green list” of the top travel destinations for British vacationers. But what makes these destinations so green?
The list includes 12 countries and territories, including Portugal, Gibraltar, Israel, Australia, Brunei, Iceland, New Zealand, Singapore,South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha and the United Arab Emirates.
To make the list, destinations must have a low risk of coronavirus transmission and meet a number of other criteria related to travel restrictions and entry requirements.
The UK’s Foreign Office has also said that all of the destinations on the list are “vaccine friendly,” meaning that they welcome travelers who have been vaccinated against coronavirus.

How to get to these destinations from the UK

-Portugal: Flights from the UK to Portugal are currently restricted. However, you may be able to fly if you have a negative COVID-19 test before departure and another one on arrival. You’ll also need to fill out a public health form.
-Malta: You can fly to Malta from the UK without any restrictions. However, you will need to fill out a passenger locator form and present a negative COVID-19 test result before departure. On arrival in Malta, you will need to take another COVID-19 test.
-Gibraltar: You can fly to Gibraltar from the UK without any restrictions. However, you will need to fill out a passenger locator form and present a negative COVID-19 test result before departure. On arrival in Gibraltar, you will need take another COVID-19 test.
-Iceland: You can fly to Iceland from the UK without any restrictions. However, you will need to fill out a passenger locator form before departure and present a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 72 hours of your flight. On arrival in Iceland, you’ll need to take another COVID-19 test.
